profiling SKILL.md skillA
profiling from cratis/ai is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cratis/ai/profiling@git:20261026.fc845e3Pins git:20261026.fc845e3 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use when investigating a .NET application's CPU, GC, allocation, exception or contention behavior through runtime profiling. Not for crash dumps, benchmark design or replacing realistic load tests with ad-hoc traces.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<!-- Modified by Cratis from managedcode's original (MIT): frontmatter, applicability, navigation and the changes listed in NOTICE. Upstream: https://github.com/managedcode/dotnet-skills (catalog/Tools/Profiling/skills/profiling/SKILL.md; see NOTICE) --> # .NET Profiling Use only within this skill's stated task; general workflow advice does not apply to unrelated tasks. Cratis rules in `.cratis/ai/rules/` (including `csharp.md`, `specs.csharp.md`, and `orleans.md`) and the `cratis-*` skills win where they differ. Write outputs only to the task's `.ai-work/<task>/` folder; run collection commands there, not in `profile-output/`. ## Trigger On - the repo needs performance or runtime profiling for a .NET application - the user asks about slow code, high CPU, GC pressure, allocation growth, exception storms, lock contention, or startup diagnostics - the team wants official CLI-based diagnostics without depending on `dnx` ## Value - produce a concrete project delta: code, docs, config, tests, CI, or review artifact - reduce ambiguity through explicit planning, verification, and final validation skills - leave reusable project context so future tasks are faster and safer …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/profiling@sha256:4b237cba315c619dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.fc845e3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
