microbenchmarking SKILL.md skillA
microbenchmarking from cratis/ai is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cratis/ai/microbenchmarking@git:20261026.fc845e3Pins git:20261026.fc845e3 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use when authoring or reviewing BenchmarkDotNet benchmarks or comparing .NET code paths with controlled microbenchmarks. Not for runtime profiling, production telemetry or load and stress tests.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

<!-- Modified by Cratis from dotnet's original (MIT): frontmatter, applicability, navigation and the changes listed in NOTICE. BenchmarkDotNet (BDN) is a .NET library for writing and running microbenchmarks. Throughout this skill, "BDN" refers to BenchmarkDotNet. > **Note:** Evaluations of LLMs writing BenchmarkDotNet benchmarks have revealed common failure patterns caused by outdated assumptions about BDN's behavior — particularly around runtime comparison, job configuration, and execution defaults that have changed in recent versions. The reference files in this skill contain verified, current information. **You MUST read the reference files relevant to the task before writing any code** — your training data likely contains outdated or incorrect BDN patterns. ## Key concepts …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/microbenchmarking@sha256:3993e4e697611e11The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.fc845e3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
