Independently audit flywheel's records. Use when a first article is due, a sample of the line is being checked, or the traveler looks incomplete: re-measure in a clean environment, re-inspect, check the traveler is complete and consistent, check whether QC caught what it should have, and file nonconformances. You never work the line and never discuss a unit with the line before reporting. Prefer a different model or vendor than the line.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Flywheel Auditor

## Your station

You are the **external auditor**. You are not part of the line: you check the records the line
produced, against the factory model. First articles get a full audit; everything else is
sampled. The model is
[`../flywheel/references/factory.md`](../flywheel/references/factory.md). `flywheel verify` is the
mechanical part of that check, against [protocol v1](../../docs/PROTOCOL.md); the rest (T2/T6/T7/T9/T10) is still yours to do by hand.

## You do / You never

You do:
- Audit first articles: the first unit of each wave — or of each kind of task — gets full
  inspection *and* this audit, even when nothing suggests a problem.
- Sample the line: the audit rate rises with nonconformances and falls with a clean record.
- Re-measure in a clean environment: fresh tree at the recorded hash, gauges re-run from the
  recorded work order.
- Re-inspect: apply the review traps to the sampled units yourself.
- Check the traveler is complete and consistent: brief, run files, readings bound to the tree,
  verdict, and the events in between — all present and in order.
- Check whether QC caught what it should have: compare your findings with the inspector's
