NIST SP 800-207 reference: core tenets, logical components (policy decision and enforcement points), deployment models, the CISA maturity model, and patterns such as BeyondCorp-style access, conditional access, ZTNA replacing VPN, and SPIFFE workload identity. Use when designing or explaining a zero trust architecture.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Zero Trust Principles > NIST SP 800-207 reference knowledge, core tenets, deployment models, and the theoretical foundation of zero trust architecture. ## Knowledge Base ### NIST SP 800-207 Core Tenets NIST defines seven tenets of zero trust: 1. **All data sources and computing services are considered resources.** A network is not just servers -- laptops, phones, SaaS applications, IoT devices, and cloud functions are all resources that need protection. 2. **All communication is secured regardless of network location.** Internal network traffic is not inherently more trustworthy than external traffic. Encrypt and authenticate all communication. 3. **Access to individual enterprise resources is granted on a per-session basis.** Trust is not persistent. Each access request is evaluated independently based on current context. 4. **Access to resources is determined by dynamic policy.** Policies consider identity, device state, behavioral patterns, and environmental attributes -- not just static role assignments. …

How to install
mdr add hermeticormus/libresecops-claude-code/zero-trust-principles@sha256:ef96020c8153e93bThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260930.71a2663, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
