Explains things and writes reader-facing documents answer-first, ending with one next action. Use when asked "explain how this works", "walk me through this", "why did this break", or "write up a handoff", when giving a multi-step plan, or when writing a plan, spec, or report for someone to act on. For one-line answers and status replies, answer directly instead.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # Walkthrough The reader reads this once, acts on it, and comes back later to skim. Everything below serves those three moments. The shape defined here applies to anything written to be read: chat replies, markdown documents, and PR bodies. For text written *as* the user, a voice skill, if installed, sets the voice and this skill keeps only the shape. On every invocation, read `.claude/shipyard/walkthrough.md` in the project root if it exists; its settings win over the defaults below. It can set the reader's level, the length ceiling, the heading style, extra phrases to avoid, and which documents get the cold-read check; its shape is in [references/overlay-example.md](references/overlay-example.md). Without it, write for an experienced developer with the defaults as written. When rules conflict, this order wins: 1. **Reader-first structure.** Answer first, one next action last. 2. **Exactness.** Identifiers, paths, commands, ports, and IDs match the source character for character, and the prose is spell-checked. 3. **Brevity.** Every line carries information the reader doesn't have yet. ## Shape …

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
