# Catch Up on an Epic or a Pull Request (`atk:catchup`) Turns an epic or a pull request into a page that gets a newcomer to the work in a few minutes, and, for an epic, into a set of questions the person who will write the code answers themselves before they start. A document a person was handed, a local file, pasted text, or a link to one, becomes a page that explains it in plain words, finding by finding or section by section: document mode. The brief is disposable. It is written to be read once and to have its open questions pasted back to whoever can answer them. It is not a second place of record, so it links to the requirement and the design rather than restating either. ## Scope Handles: reading an epic or a pull request through the detected tracker, tracing the code the work touches, writing a brief a person who missed every meeting can follow, generating the understanding check in epic mode, and collecting what the spec does not answer into a block addressed to a named person. In document mode: explaining a kit record or any other document in plain words, keeping its evidence, severities and IDs as they are, on a temporary page held out of git. …

How to install
mdr add lamngockhuong/aiteamkit/catchup@sha256:7e5ca9611d6fee18The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261021.ae774f4, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
