Provision a fast, reproducible dev environment for QA or standalone use — healthcheck-gated boot, reuse/teardown rules, host-mode fallback. Protocol for /orc:env, /orc:qa Phase 4, /orc:flow Phase 6, and the orc-env-provisioner agent.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Environment Provisioning Stand up the app (and its backing services) so QA — or the user — can run against a real, reproducible environment. Honors the project's own setup guidelines when they exist; generates the minimum when they don't. Speed is a design goal: the second boot on a branch takes seconds, not minutes. **Announce at start:** "I'm using the env-provisioning skill because this task needs the app running." Deep Docker knowledge (multi-stage builds, hardening, compose patterns) lives in `orc:docker-best-practices` — reference it, never duplicate it. This skill owns the *protocol*: detect → provision → prove → record. ## Detection ladder Evaluate top-down in the **worktree** (the code under test), first hit wins. Setup guidelines (README/CONTRIBUTING "Setup"/"Getting started" sections, `Makefile`, `.env.example`) are consulted at EVERY rung — they supply env values, seed/migrate steps, ports, and the service list; they never override a higher rung's boot mechanism. Rung specifics (override mechanics, devcontainer mapping, dev-stage preference, the hybrid rationale) + inference tables: `references/detection.md`. …

How to install
mdr add higoralves/orc/env-provisioning@sha256:bd7d893821e23475The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.7a1f356, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
