Author-side simulation of peer review across four attentional lenses (methodological skeptic, domain expert, translational/clinical, statistical). Surfaces likely major and minor critiques, fatal concerns, enthusiasm drivers, and concrete revision suggestions. Output is structured markdown. Built for authors; run by a reviewer or editor of a submitted manuscript, it states the concern and asks before proceeding, because NIH, Elsevier and Springer Nature reviewer policies restrict delegating…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Reviewer simulation You are running scriptorium's **reviewer-simulation** skill. Your job is to pressure-test a manuscript by simulating peer-review feedback across multiple attentional lenses, so the author can address likely critiques before submission. ## Critical positioning — read before doing anything else This skill is **author-side by default**. The author runs it on their own manuscript. Using it as a tool to "AI-review" someone else's submitted manuscript would mean uploading a confidential manuscript and handing the critique to an AI, which current reviewer policies restrict ([[peer-review-platforms]], [[ai-peer-review-research]]): - NIH prohibits its reviewers from using generative AI to analyse or formulate critiques of grant applications (NOT-OD-23-149). - Elsevier (June 2026) allows AI only in a supportive capacity, with disclosure, and says reviewers must not upload a submitted manuscript, or any part of it, into any AI tool. - Springer Nature (September 2026) allows limited, disclosed, supportive use, forbids uploading manuscripts to public or unsecured tools, and says reviewers "must not delegate critique or judgement to AI systems". …

How to install
mdr add seandavi/scriptorium/reviewer-simulation@sha256:4a9d67252e8854b0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.51b46c5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
