Start working on a GitHub issue. Fetches the issue details and automatically activates the relevant development skills based on issue labels. Use when the user says "work on issue #N", "start issue N", or invokes /github-issue <number>. Requires a GitHub issue number as argument.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Work on GitHub Issue
You have been asked to start working on a GitHub issue. Follow these steps:
## Step 1 — Fetch the issue
Run this command to get the issue details (replace `<number>` with the argument):

gh issue view <number> --json number,title,body,state,labels,assignees
```
If the command fails, inform the user and stop.
## Step 2 — Create the feature branch (if needed)
Check the current git branch. If you are NOT already on a branch that
references this issue number (e.g., `feature/<number>-*`), ask the user
whether they want to create or switch to one.
## Step 3 — Fetch implementation progress from comments
Check the issue comments for an existing **implementation progress** todo list:

```
If found:
- Parse the todo list (lines matching `- [x]` and `- [ ]`)
- Present it to the user as the current status, clearly separating done and
remaining items
- Throughout the session, **update the comment** when tasks are completed:

How to install
mdr add siculo/okf-skills/github-issue@sha256:a5ec287fa66a11aeThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260626.54c33fc, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
