Audit GitHub releases, git tags, and release assets for one repo or every repo in a directory. Flags orphaned tags, missing binaries/checksums, draft releases, floating tag drift, pre-release remnants, and (when sr.yaml is present) sr config issues. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Release Audit Audit releases, tags, and assets for consistency. ## Steps 1. **Determine scope**: If a directory of repos is given, discover all git repos one level deep. Otherwise use the current repo. 2. **For each repo**, gather: - All tags: `git tag -l` - All releases: `gh release list --limit 50 --json tagName,name,isDraft,isPrerelease,assets` - **Detect sr.yaml**: check whether `sr.yaml` exists at the repo root. Only if present, read it to understand expected release behavior. If absent, skip all sr-specific checks for this repo (do not report a "missing sr.yaml" issue -- not every repo uses sr). - Floating tags: tags like `v1`, `v2` that point to the same commit as a full semver tag 3. **Check for issues**: - **Orphaned tags**: tags with no corresponding GitHub release - **Releases without assets**: releases that should have binaries/checksums but don't - **Draft releases**: releases stuck in draft state - **Floating tag drift**: major version tags (e.g., `v1`) not pointing to the latest patch …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
