Write TypeScript specifications in the Cratis BDD style using the given() helper, reusable context classes, Sinon stubbing, and the Chai .should fluent interface. Use when adding or restructuring TypeScript specifications, building a given/ context class, or laying out a for_/when_ specification folder. Do not use for C# specifications, and do not use it to decide what the code under specification should do.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Cratis TypeScript specifications Specifications describe behavior, not implementation. The `given()` helper and its context class are the TypeScript counterpart of the C# `Specification` base: setup is separated from the action, and each `it()` verifies one outcome. ## Verified product sources Helper and setup patterns come from Fundamentals (`for_JsonSerializer/given/given.ts`, `vitest.setup.ts`) and Arc (`Source/JavaScript/Arc/given.ts`). The execution stack is: | Framework | Role | | --- | --- | | Vitest | Test runner (`yarn test` from the package root) | | Mocha-style structure | `describe`, `it`, `beforeEach`, `afterEach` | | Chai | Assertions, always through the `.should` fluent interface | | Sinon | Stubbing and call verification | `given()` is a small **local file** inside the package under specification, not a published package export. Import it with a relative path to that file; create it if absent. Fundamentals constructs a parameterless context; Arc passes the Mocha `Suite` to the context constructor and binds the callback's `this` to it. Match the owning package's helper signature rather than assuming one import path. …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-specifications-typescript@sha256:f05cba51be856276The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.d89a1b7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
