Investigate a requirement, search existing filesystem tracks and watches for overlap, and register or revise a TODO Flow track document. Registration is separate from execution.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# todo — investigate, check overlap, register a document Read `project.json` beside this skill when installed: it identifies the state directory and primary language. Read that state's `config/1.json` for the current project language (`en` by default, `ko` for Korean). Use it for user-facing reports and newly authored documents unless the user requests another language. Keep protocol keys, IDs, commands and source quotations unchanged. Set the document's `language` and HTML `lang` accordingly. The project's `todo/` (or explicitly configured STATE) holds canonical tracks and execution records. Start with `rg` and ordinary file reads. Do not require a graph, vector database or SQL tool, or convert an unrelated project into TODO Flow. ## Investigate existing work first - Separate symptoms and requirements; combine them when they share a cause. Questions that only need an answer and umbrella items with no executable work do not need tracks. …

How to install
mdr add jakeb-5/todo-flow/todo@sha256:21842bca8bce3292The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261003.0b96d15, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
