Memory forensics reference: acquisition tools (WinPMem, DumpIt, FTK Imager, LiME, AVML), Volatility 3 architecture, and triage patterns for processes, hidden processes, and injected code. Use when acquiring or analyzing a memory image during incident response.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Memory Forensics > Volatility framework reference, process analysis, memory artifact types, and RAM analysis patterns for incident response. ## Knowledge Base ### Why Memory Forensics Memory forensics reveals evidence that does not exist on disk: - **Running malware**: Fileless malware executes entirely in memory. No disk artifact exists. - **Injected code**: Malware injected into legitimate processes leaves memory artifacts but may not be visible on disk. - **Decrypted data**: Encrypted files are decrypted in memory when accessed. Memory captures may contain plaintext of encrypted data. - **Network connections**: Active and recently closed connections exist in kernel memory. - **Credentials**: Password hashes, Kerberos tickets, and plaintext passwords reside in LSASS memory and other process spaces. - **Encryption keys**: Full-disk encryption keys exist in memory while the volume is mounted. - **Rootkit artifacts**: Kernel rootkits that hide from disk-based tools can be detected through memory analysis. - **Process history**: Terminated processes may leave residual artifacts in memory until the pages are reused. ### Memory Acquisition **Windows**: ```bash …

How to install
mdr add hermeticormus/libresecops-claude-code/memory-forensics@sha256:0645f926e8550b13The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260930.71a2663, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
