Use when run-tests needs a filter translated after the .NET test platform and framework are known. Not for direct invocation, unfiltered runs or platform detection.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<!-- Modified by Cratis from dotnet's original (MIT): frontmatter, applicability, navigation and the changes listed in NOTICE. Upstream: https://github.com/dotnet/skills (plugins/dotnet-test/skills/filter-syntax/SKILL.md; see NOTICE) --> # Test Filter Syntax Reference Cratis rules in `.cratis/ai/rules/` (including `csharp.md`, `specs.csharp.md`, and `orleans.md`) and the `cratis-*` skills win where they differ. Specification authoring belongs to **cratis-specifications-csharp**; identify the actual runner rather than assuming xUnit v2/VSTest. Supported Cratis executable suites use direct runner flags first (see its [running-specs reference](../cratis-specifications-csharp/references/running-specs.md)). The dotnet-test forms below are technical syntax when that entrypoint is explicitly required, not the Cratis default. Filter syntax depends on the **platform** and **test framework**. ## VSTest filters (MSTest, xUnit v2, NUnit on VSTest) ```bash dotnet test --filter <EXPRESSION> ``` Expression syntax: `<Property><Operator><Value>[|&<Expression>]` **Operators:** | Operator | Meaning | |----------|---------| | `=` | Exact match | | `!=` | Not exact match | | `~` | Contains | …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/filter-syntax@sha256:606e752f530e8cbdThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261102.97944e7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
