Operational tech-stack picks and coding patterns: error handling per language, commit conventions, interface design (Go SDKs), workspace layout, junior-friendly bias. Use when writing or reviewing implementation code and you need a concrete answer for "what tool, pattern, or idiom." Do NOT use for design-tradeoff reasoning (use review-design) or the quality framework (use assess-quality). Personal Nix / chezmoi / Powerlevel10k / Neovim machine specifics live in write-code-portfolio; use that…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Development Practices > **Layering:** Operational picks that satisfy `review-design` (principles) and `assess-quality` (foundational framework). Use this skill when you need a concrete answer for "what tool/pattern/idiom"; use `review-design` when reasoning about tradeoffs; use `assess-quality` for the underlying "why." ## Development Philosophy - "How easy is this for a junior to understand, develop, and expand on?" - Self-documenting code > comments - Small, focused interfaces > god objects - Convention over configuration - Explicit > implicit ## Tech Stack | Category | Tools | |----------|-------| | Languages | Rust, Go, TypeScript/Node 22, Python 3.13, Lua 5.4, Java 21, Haskell | | Package Managers | cargo, uv (Python), npm/yarn/pnpm, luarocks | | Formatters/Linters | biome (JS/TS), stylua (Lua), clippy (Rust), golangci-lint (Go), ruff (Python) | | Observability | opentelemetry (tracing/metrics/logs), structlog + stdlib logging (Python; loguru for scripts only) | | Editor | Neovim (HEAD) with LSP: ty, ts_ls, lua_ls, gopls, rust_analyzer, jsonls, yamlls, bashls, jdtls | | Shell | Zsh + Oh My Zsh + Powerlevel10k | …

How to install
mdr add urmzd/dotfiles/write-code@sha256:2317806713543e0dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260530.d3be4dd, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
