Add a rejection rule to a Cratis Arc command or query in Kotlin or Java — FluentModelValidator shared rules that also emit TypeScript, plus the server-only CommandValidator, QueryValidator, ConceptValidator, and ModelValidator. Use when a Kotlin or Java Arc command or query must refuse work under some condition. Do not use to define a new command or query, and do not use for append-time Chronicle constraints.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Validate an Arc command or query in Kotlin or Java Arc.Kotlin has two validation surfaces, and they compose rather than compete: **shared fluent rules** that a build step also turns into generated TypeScript client-side checks, and **ordinary imperative validators** that run only on the server. Pick shared rules first for anything literal enough to express that way; keep service calls, async work, and cross-member logic imperative. ## Verified product sources Verified against `Arc.Kotlin` at tag **`v7.7.0`**: JDK 17, Gradle 8.14.4, Kotlin 2.4.20, KSP 2.3.12, Spring Boot 4.1.1, JUnit Jupiter 6.1.3. `io.cratis:arc` supplies `io.cratis.arc.validation.FluentModelValidator`, `CommandValidator<T>`, nongeneric `QueryValidator`, `ConceptValidator<T>`, `ModelValidator<T>`, `ConceptValidationExclusion`, `IgnoreValidation`, `CommandFilter`, `QueryFilter`. Sources: `queries/QueryValidator.kt`, `commands/CommandValidator.kt`, validation types and `guides/pipeline-filters.mdx`. ## Shared fluent rules — server and generated TypeScript Use `FluentModelValidator<T>` for a literal member rule that must run identically on the server and in the generated client. It is a public, final, …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-arc-validation-kotlin@sha256:a62e386236d820bfThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261012.0af903a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
