End-to-end repo bootstrap: creates the GitHub repo (gh repo create), adds an Apache-2.0 LICENSE, dispatches to scaffold-project for CI/release/config, invokes community-health, writes a README, sets topics/description, and makes the initial commit and push. Use when starting a brand-new project from zero and you need the GitHub repo, metadata, and first push handled, not just local files. Do NOT use to scaffold files inside an existing repo; invoke scaffold-project directly for that.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Repo Init Bootstrap a complete repository from zero to pushed. ## Steps 1. **Create GitHub repo**: `gh repo create <name> --<visibility> --description "<description>" --clone` (default public). 2. **Add LICENSE**: Create an Apache-2.0 LICENSE file in the repo root. 3. **Scaffold**: If a language is specified, invoke `scaffold-project` (which dispatches to `scaffold-<lang>`) to produce: - CI workflow (`.github/workflows/ci.yml`) and release workflow (`.github/workflows/release.yml`); see `setup-ci`. - `sr.yaml` for semantic release; see `sync-release`. - Task runner native to the language (npm scripts, Makefile, cargo, justfile for Python). - `.envrc` via the `setup-devenv` direnv pattern (vanilla direnv + per-language version manager, not a Nix dev shell). - Language-specific config (Cargo.toml, go.mod, pyproject.toml, package.json, etc.). …

How to install
mdr add urmzd/dotfiles/repo-init@sha256:f38dc1185d37d7f2The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260530.d3be4dd, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
