Use for focused codebase research before changes.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Team Research
Before finalizing prose you author, read the [writing standards](../team/references/writing.md).
Run the RESEARCH phase only, then stop.
## Input
`$ARGUMENTS` is the artifact directory `docs/plans/<id>/`; if empty, the
discovery command resolves it.
Resolve `<team-skill-dir>` to the absolute directory containing
`skills/team/SKILL.md`. From the repository root, run:

- **Printed a path:** use it as `$ARGUMENTS`. If it came from tier 2 (no
explicit arg), announce the resolved directory before proceeding. Discovery
resolves only the directory; dispatch still forwards exactly
`{2-questions.md, 4-repos.md?}`.
- **Printed nothing:** do not hard-error. Fire `AskUserQuestion` with a `Setup` header and labeled options:
- **Run the producer** — run `/team-question <description>`.
- **Give a path** — the user supplies `docs/plans/<id>/`.

How to install
mdr add bostonaholic/team/team-research@sha256:350770d448f9c9e4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261021.4fcd93b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
