Rebuild the ranked register of Bulgarian news websites in news/data/bg_news_sites.csv from three independent sources — Similarweb category ranks (the ordering key), Semrush's country mass-media table (second traffic estimate) and the Tranco top-1M (reproducible, offline) — with sports portals excluded and the broadcasters Similarweb misfiles added back by hand. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. # update-news-sites Produces **`news/data/bg_news_sites.csv`** — every Bulgarian news domain worth knowing, ranked, with three independent measurements beside each so no single vendor's estimate is load-bearing. ## ⚠️ Do not re-add a RETIRED outlet `news/data/retired_sites.csv` records every outlet removed from the registry, with the reason and the date. **Read it before adding a domain** — a refresh that re-discovers a site and re-adds it blind will rediscover a CAPTCHA wall or an empty JS shell from scratch, and in two cases will crawl a site that asked not to be. Eleven were retired on 2026-08-26, in four classes: | reason | outlets | what it means | | --- | --- | --- | | `blocked_captcha` | trud.bg, btvnovinite.bg, afera.bg, struma.bg | an INTERACTIVE challenge. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
