Use the Cratis Components schema editors — SchemaEditor for editing a JSON schema's property structure, and ObjectContentEditor for viewing and editing an object instance against a schema. Covers the exact props, the narrow JSON-schema subset they consume, how edits come back out, the type-format vocabulary, property-name validation, and the real editing limits. Use when building a UI that lets a user shape an event or payload schema, or inspect and edit a stored object. Do not use for a…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Cratis Components schema editors
Two components edit schema-shaped data. They are **not** interchangeable:
| Component | Edits | Subpath |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `SchemaEditor` | the **schema** — property names, types, and formats | `@cratis/components/SchemaEditor` |
| `ObjectContentEditor` | an **object instance**, interpreted through a schema | `@cratis/components/ObjectContentEditor` |
For a form bound to a generated Arc command, use `CommandForm` and its fields
instead — see the **cratis-arc-react-page** skill. These editors are for the
case where the shape itself is data.
## Verified product sources
| Package | Verified from |
| --- | --- |
| `@cratis/components` | its package manifest and the `SchemaEditor` / `ObjectContentEditor` sources |
| `react` | peer of `@cratis/components` |
## The schema type these editors consume
This is a deliberately narrow, hand-rolled subset — **not** a JSON Schema draft
type. Import it from either editor's subpath.
```ts
interface JsonSchema {
title?: string; name?: string; $id?: string; $ref?: string;
type?: string; format?: string; description?: string;
properties?: Record<string, JsonSchemaProperty>;
How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-components-schema-editor@sha256:98427a7a3d390fb3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.615e6a9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
