Write C# specifications with Cratis.Specifications using the Establish/Because/should_ pattern and the for_/when_/and_ folder hierarchy. Use when adding or restructuring C# specs in any Cratis repository, choosing between an isolated unit spec and an in-process scenario spec, or building reusable given/ contexts. Do not use for TypeScript or React specs, and do not use it to decide what a command, projection, or reactor should do.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Cratis C# specifications Specifications are executable documentation. The folder tree reads like a table of contents, and each file states one setup, one action, and one or more focused assertions. Read [query and decision scenarios](../cratis-application-slice-specifications/references/query-and-decision-scenarios.md) when specifying query emissions, routed conflicts or protected projection reads. Seed actual events for a guarded command; pinned models cannot supply a guard. `new CommandScenario<T>()` selects the in-process decision log from the command's read-protection mode and dependencies, so `UseDecisionReads()` is not called. `Perform`/`Observe` need configured services/principal, and MongoDB observations still need real infrastructure. ## Verified product sources Sources: | Package | Purpose | | --- | --- | | `Cratis.Specifications.XUnit` | `Specification` base, lifecycle discovery, `ShouldXxx` assertions, optional shared lifecycle | | `Cratis.Specifications` | `Catch.Exception`, `SpecificationMethods` (dependency of the XUnit package) | …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-specifications-csharp@sha256:4dd72013857574d2The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.b081bc9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
