Entry point and router for model-first Cratis work: the short decision rule (model, or code), the nine-step workflow per behavior, the four slice types, the Cratis divergences from the generic method, the quick validation gate, file layout and what parsed-but-not-runnable means, then the phase skill to load next. Use when designing an information system, mapping a business process or information flow, deciding the event vocabulary or stream boundaries, turning a whiteboard model into `.play`…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Event modeling with Screenplay (start here) Event Modeling is the **method**: walk a business process left to right and write down every behavior as a command that changes the system, a view that reads it, an automation that runs off it, or a translation of outside data. Screenplay is the **artifact**: one language that holds that whole model - concepts, commands, events, read models, queries, screens, specifications - in files that compile. You are a **facilitator, not a stenographer.** Ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, keep asking *"and then what happens?"* after every event, every command, every answer. Use business language. Do not discuss databases, APIs, or frameworks during modeling. **Ask only what the step needs:** ask the one question that changes the model most; in an unattended run assume visibly, never silently; contradictions, a third review round and missing approvals always stop. Read [references/facilitation-stance.md](references/facilitation-stance.md) for the full rule, and `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle`'s `references/stop-or-assume.md` when information is missing or contradictory, or when deciding whether unattended work may proceed. …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-screenplay-event-modeling@sha256:e126f5586b942369The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.b093239, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
