Use when a file generated during MSBuild is missing from compilation or output because of target timing, globs or item registration. Not for general item semantics, duplicate declarations or Roslyn generator internals.

# Including Generated Files Into Your Build
Cratis rules in `.cratis/ai/rules/` (including `csharp.md`, `specs.csharp.md`, and `orleans.md`) and the `cratis-*` skills win where they differ.
## Overview
Files generated during the build are generally ignored by the build process. This leads to confusing results such as:
- Generated files not being included in the output directory
- Generated source files not being compiled
- Globs not capturing files created during the build
This happens because of how MSBuild's build phases work.

For code files generated during the build - we need to add those to `Compile` and `FileWrites` item groups within the target generating the file(s):

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/including-generated-files@sha256:00a80cfd5bb7fcd0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261026.fc845e3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
