Use when users with a CodeScene instance ask what to improve first across a project, which hotspots matter most, or how to rank refactoring candidates. Only in repositories that opted into the cratis/codescene profile and have CodeScene MCP tools available; otherwise do not use.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<!-- Modified by Cratis from CodeScene AB's original (Apache-2.0): added profile guard, policy note, license field and this notice. Upstream: https://github.com/codescene-oss/codescene-mcp-server (skills/prioritizing-technical-debt/SKILL.md; see NOTICE) --> # Prioritizing Technical Debt Use only in repositories that opted into `cratis/codescene` and have CodeScene MCP tools available; otherwise skip without blocking and say so. The Cratis policy in `.cratis/ai/rules/codescene.md` overrides this skill where they differ. ## Overview Use this skill to bring high-level CodeScene project data into planning. The goal is to turn hotspots, goals, and file-level metrics into a ranked improvement plan rather than just listing raw results. ## When to Use - The user asks what to improve first. - The workflow needs a ranked list of refactoring targets. - The user has a CodeScene instance and wants project-level guidance. Do not use this skill for single-file refactoring mechanics. Use `guiding-refactoring-with-code-health` for that. ## Quick Reference - `select_project`: Establish the correct project context. - `list_technical_debt_hotspots_for_project`: Find high-impact hotspots. …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/prioritizing-technical-debt@sha256:1c8040c8eb750830The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261013.615e6a9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
