Discover a domain and its event timeline by interview and live storming, landing results directly in `.play` as modules, personas with Does/Reads/Cannot, features and past-tense events with essential fields, in story order, with branches, way-outs and endings named. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Discovery: events, personas and the story, straight into `.play` ## Purpose Find out what the business does and which facts it must remember, and write those facts into a `.play` model while the conversation is still going. Output: a compiling skeleton of modules, personas (Does / Reads / Cannot), features and events with essential fields, ordered as the story happens, plus the open questions, rules and assumptions. Commands, read models and screens come later (`cratis-screenplay-slice-design`). Phases, modes, verdicts and the handoff packet live in `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle`; syntax and tool commands in `cratis-screenplay-toolchain`. ## When to use / when not - Use: a new model; a new workflow in an existing model; a brief, ticket, transcript, spreadsheet or process document to turn into candidate events; a timeline to check for completeness; a human workshop the agent supports (`references/human-workshop.md`). - Not for: commands, inputs, read models, queries, screens (`cratis-screenplay-slice-design`); stream boundaries and invariants (`cratis-screenplay-streams-and-consistency`); reactions, …

How to install
mdr add cratis/ai/cratis-screenplay-discovery@sha256:b066bd47909797e0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261014.8b817dc, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
