Prove a change to an Expo app works by seeing it, not by trusting a passing test. Picks which layer proves this change (component test, seeded simulator screenshot, smoke case, release build smoke run, browser preview, end to end journey), runs it, and shows the evidence. Use after any UI, navigation, layout, purchase or deep link change, before saying something is fixed or done, and when setting up testing in a new app.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# See it work **The rule: a change is done when you have SEEN it work, not when a test passes.** Tests prove behaviour. Only a screen proves layout. Never say "fixed" or "done" for something a person will see until you have looked at it, and never claim more than the layer you used can prove. Read `references/layers.md` for how to run each layer. Read `references/simulator-gotchas.md` before trusting any simulator result. Read `references/paid-tier-testing.md` when the change touches a paywall, a usage limit or anything that differs between free and paid. ## What you can and cannot use here Check this first. It decides which layers are open to you. | Where you are running | Layers available | | --- | --- | | A Mac with Xcode and a simulator (or an Android emulator) | All of them | | Linux or Windows with an Android emulator | Component tests, Android screenshots, Android smoke and journeys | | A cloud session (no simulator, no emulator) | Component tests and the browser preview only | Simulators need a Mac. A cloud session cannot see a phone screen at all. If the change needs a layer you do not have, do what you can, then say plainly which …

How to install
mdr add namedtoaster/the-last-mile/see-it-work@sha256:b9317d8d06f0f0afThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261020.83b21e5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
