Create and update interactive HTML pages (canvases) that the user sees in the AI Maestro dashboard, and handle what they click, submit or select. Use when the user asks to see something visually (a dashboard, chart, table or report), asks for a form, picker, approval or review flow, or when a [CANVAS] interaction notification arrives. Not for one-line answers, code or terminal commands.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Agent Canvas A canvas is an HTML file you write to your canvas directory. The AI Maestro dashboard shows it in the agent's Canvas tab, and anything the user does on it that calls `maestro.send()` comes back to you as a `[CANVAS]` notification. Answer in text by default; a canvas is for when the user asked for a page or has to act on your result, because viewing one means switching to the Canvas tab. ## Where pages live ``` ~/.aimaestro/agents/$AIM_AGENT_ID/canvas/ ├── dashboard.html ├── reports/weekly.html # subdirectories work └── interactions/ # created by AI Maestro; one JSON file per user action ``` AI Maestro sets `AIM_AGENT_ID` in agent sessions. The dashboard does not watch the file: tell the user to refresh or re-select it in the Canvas tab. How to install
mdr add 23blocks-os/ai-maestro-plugins/canvas-actions@sha256:3a2d022b7f712da0The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.3.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
