Discovers and triages candidate sources before ingestion. Produces a triage report with licence, distribution scope, format, viability verdict, and gap-fit notes: three buckets (proceed, sample first, skip). Each `proceed` entry is shaped as ready input for `ingesting-resources`.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Finding Resources
Discovery and triage of candidate sources before paying the 9-pass ingestion cost. Each invocation produces a triage report at an operator-chosen path with three buckets:
- **proceed**: viable; ready to feed into `ingesting-resources`
- **sample first**: uncertain on one of the viability checks; one more probe needed
- **skip**: not viable, with the specific reason recorded

## When to use
- Filling a thin distillation in an existing distillation index (e.g. the decision-making axis has no source on project management).
- Adding a new task axis (`creating-tasks` → `creating-applications` workflow): need candidate sources whose framing maps onto the new axis.
- Forking the repo for a new corpus: step 2 of the README's forking flow ("Pick your sources") routes here.

How to install
mdr add chrisgagne/grounded-forge/finding-resources@sha256:44cf2ac87af04f0fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261016.bf35f08, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
