Audit an essay or draft for under-attribution against the library's curated corpus: surfaces the one or two closest neighbours whose work overlaps with the author's distinctive synthesis, classifies the overlap, and recommends specific provenance fixes. Not a fact-check; a build/contribute-boundary check.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Audit attribution Run an essay or draft through the library to surface **under-attribution**: the gap between an essay properly citing sources and an essay where a careful reader can tell what's being built on versus what's being contributed. Citation count is not the metric; the metric is whether the build/contribute boundary is visible from the text alone. ## Why this skill exists When synthesising across multiple bodies of work, an author can produce an essay that: 1. Properly cites individual sources, and 2. Reproduces the structure, catalogue, or argumentative shape of one source closely enough that a reader of that source recognises it as the same territory, but 3. Frames the synthesis as the author's own without naming the closest neighbours in the lineage. This is not plagiarism—citations exist—but it is **under-attribution**: the reader can't tell from the text alone what the author is building on versus contributing. The fix is provenance markers that make the build/contribute boundary visible. A 30-citation essay can still under-attribute. Citation breadth is not citation depth. ## When to use …

How to install
mdr add chrisgagne/grounded-forge/audit-attribution@sha256:ff750d76bcdf9c85The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261004.1cd23f8, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
