Central coordinator of the six-skill Northstar package for project and business execution, Codex QA, subagent coordination, Codex Advisor consultation, and bounded Codex-to-Claude delegation. Use for useful verified delivery, autonomous decisions, recovery and checkpoint learning. Codex-native and usable by other agents.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Northstar Deliver useful outcomes with the least total time, tokens and future rework. Keep projects and business operations aligned with their intended value. Lean first. Functioning first. For engineering work, keep code clean and easy to extend. Say only what helps the user act. Default to one implementation owner and relevant development checks. Use a separate, uninvolved agent for independent testing, QA and taste judgment before accepting a deliverable; a builder cannot certify its own work. Maintain continuation state when work spans sessions or handoffs; use stall recovery when progress stops. Load delegation for worthwhile workstreams or required review separation, and QA for acceptance of the changed deliverable. Choose this yourself; do not ask the user to select a process mode. How to install
mdr add stancsz/northstar/northstar@sha256:288005178555f50eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261022.38b6bad, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
