Plan and inspect delivery quality before handoff. Use for functional, rendered visual, accessibility, code-quality and adversarial review; verify fixes with evidence and bounded effort. Part of the Northstar package. Codex-native and usable by other agents.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Codex QA For art, image inspection or aesthetic judgment, follow [Codex Advisor's mandatory visual guidance](../codex-advisor/SKILL.md#mandatory-visual-and-aesthetic-guidance): deliver actual screenshots, satisfy requested close-ups, repair under its direction and return the changed images. The advisor's design guidance remains separate from nonauthor acceptance review and required human approval. Use this skill in other agents too; the Codex name is not a usage restriction. Follow the bundled [host adaptation guidance](../northstar/SKILL.md#use-with-other-agents). Act as the independent acceptance-testing and quality function for working, coherent, finished results. Do not act as builder and QA or taste judge of the same deliverable. Builder development checks are inputs, not independent acceptance. Inspect the actual artifact; do not approve from the builder's summary, passing build, screenshot capture alone, or a filled checklist. How to install
mdr add stancsz/northstar/codex-qa@sha256:f7dabf52a1431b8dThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261021.538e80c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
