Review whether ongoing assigned work should finish, continue, wait, or escalate before a final handoff. Use for premature stopping, completion audits, and opt-in Codex Stop hooks.

# Task Completion Review Keep the agent working toward the owner's actual outcome until it is complete, the user stops it, or a verified dependency or explicit resource limit prevents further authorized progress. Use the existing goal and evidence; do not create another work ledger. A guardian review is not independent product QA or proof that every requirement passed. ## Decide from current evidence Before accepting a proposed stop, reconcile: - **Destination:** the original request, later owner-authorized changes and required acceptance. A convenient increment, passing mock or limitations paragraph cannot silently replace the promised result. An explicitly local task needs no invented deployment gate. - **Result:** inspect the relevant current artifacts and checks in the intended environment. Confirm that evidence covers the version being handed off; a worker summary, old build, HTTP success or stale test receipt is insufficient. Preserve unmet and unverified requirements. …
