Connect to a published Agent App you do not own — select it, verify its identity, receive an owner-issued scoped credential, check the grant, then operate it exactly as any local app. Load when operating a remote, shared or cloud-hosted app.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Connect
Select App → Verify Identity → Owner Credential → Check Grant → Operate
Connect is how an agent reaches an Agent App it does **not** own. Everything past
the last arrow is ordinary operation — the A2App surface is identical whether the
app is local or remote. What differs is getting in, and the fact that a connected
app can be **operated but never modified**: an Agent App is only modifiable on its
host.
## The one thing to know first
**A remote app is addressed by URL, in exactly the commands you already use.**
a2app https://kanban.example.com the app's root screen
a2app https://kanban.example.com whoami your grant
a2app https://kanban.example.com board cards walk to an entity
There is no `connect` verb, and no separate remote mode to learn. `a2app` is the
protocol client; where the app runs is the URL's business. Everything the
operator skill teaches applies unchanged.
The other binary refuses a URL, and that refusal is the boundary this whole skill
is about:
agent-app https://kanban.example.com promote
→ https://kanban.example.com is a remote app — it can be operated, not modified.

How to install
mdr add craftos-dev/agent-app/connect@sha256:4930a21cb79544e2The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260910.b79ab0c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
