answer-from-corpus SKILL.md skillA
This file is byte-identical to the first copy the registry indexed, one of 9 indexed copies. Same content hash, so the same checks give both the same grade.
answer-from-corpus from chrisgagne/grounded-forge is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.

Source-grounded answer to a question via shape-aware retrieval. In the project (a corpus with its reference tier), it routes through the corpus's main concept index to the references (light → deep, quotes checked against the converted sources) and never reads a distillation; inside a compiled app, it reads distillations only. Classifies the query as a named lookup, a diagnostic, or a synthesis, then runs the right protocol. Stops on sub-claim coverage, not on counts.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Answer from corpus Source-grounded answer protocol for any substantive question the corpus may cover. It runs in one of two modes, set by where it runs. In the project, the corpus's reference tier is present, so the skill routes through the main concept index and reads references. Inside a compiled app, the reference tier doesn't travel, so the skill reads the distillations the app ships: each carries paraphrased prose with parenthetical attribution and verbatim quotations marked `[V]` (open and open-nc sources only; copyrighted, confidential and personal sources are paraphrased, and the build enforces it), each matching the converted source word for word, with evidence markers (`[V]` / `[AP]` / `[AR]` / `[AE]` / `[BT]`) preserved. Invoke this skill to *operationalise* the bundled CLAUDE.md's grounding directive: CLAUDE.md sets the principle (search before reasoning from priors; cite or admit guessing), this protocol runs it as executable steps — shape-classification, traceability, citation density, corpus breadth. ## Procedure **Run mode: project or app.** Resolve the corpus root first (see `--corpus` below), then pick the mode from what's there. …

How to install
mdr add chrisgagne/grounded-forge/answer-from-corpus@sha256:d0d28d8b1fb0fb0cThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261002.5279cf6, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
