Decide what the product shows someone already inside it, where, how often, and which message wins the screen. Use when every launch opens a modal, in-app messages come from systems that cannot see each other, or one pitch arrives by email, push and in-app in a day. Not push (push-notifications) or site widgets (onsite-capture).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # in-product-messaging This skill answers one question: **what the product shows a person who is already inside it, on which screen, in what form, how often, which message gets the screen when several want it, and how those displays connect to the messages the program sends outside the product.** What sets this work apart from the rest of the library opens `references/in-product-vocabulary.md`. "The product" is the app, and the part of a site that exists only for an identified person: the account area, the workspace. The public pages of a site, the catalog and the articles, stay with `onsite-capture` even when a known person is on them. The boundary runs along the surface, not along the person. **Three units, named apart.** The *session* of the product is the unit of display and of budget: whatever the queue holds, the screen in this session takes a bounded number of interruptions. The *message* is the unit of construction: a row of the register with a class, a slot, an eligibility, a completion event and an expiry. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
