Decide whether a bot or a person answers someone who writes in, how the matter reaches whoever can settle it, and when it closes. Use when a bot traps people, handoffs lose context, reply times slip, or you ask what first-pass share is normal. Not messaging platform rules (messaging-channels) or surveys (voice-of-customer).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# chat-and-bots This skill answers one question: **what happens between a person's first message and the moment their matter is settled: who answers, how the matter reaches someone who can settle it and stays with them, what the person is told while nobody answers, and when the conversation counts as finished.** What sets this work apart from the rest of the library opens `references/chat-vocabulary.md`. The unit is **the issue**: one matter one person raised, from their first message until it is settled, however many threads, channels, agents and shifts it crosses. The unit of writing is smaller: **the turn**. One turn asks for one thing or gives one answer. The rule from `email-copy` that every claim traces to a fact applies to each turn unchanged. Its rule of one job per message does not carry over word for word: in a conversation the job belongs to the issue, and a single turn moves the issue one step. Before your first step, read `.agents/chappie-context.md` in the project if it exists. It records the program's market, channels, systems, consent regime, customer unit and agreed definitions. Take what it states …

How to install
mdr add 808enzo/chappie/chat-and-bots@sha256:8b6fa03f9fcb264eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261009.9d99233, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
