Designs, builds, and reviews user interfaces for web and mobile with usability heuristics, WCAG 2.2 AA, and design tokens. Use when creating or changing screens, pages, components, layouts, CSS, or interface copy, turning a design into code, or reviewing accessibility.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Designing user interfaces A good interface lets people reach their goal quickly, without confusion, errors, or effort spent on the interface itself. Clarity beats decoration, familiar patterns beat novelty, and every element must earn its place. When the project has a design system, brand guide, or Figma file, follow it over this skill and use its tokens and components. ## Usability principles These are Nielsen's ten heuristics in working form. 1. **Show system status.** Every action gets visible feedback, such as a pressed state, a spinner, a progress bar, or a confirmation. 2. **Speak the user's language.** Use words and concepts from the user's world, not internal or technical terms. 3. **Give control and freedom.** Provide undo, cancel, back, and clear exits. Prefer undo over confirmation dialogs for reversible actions. 4. **Be consistent.** The same thing looks and behaves the same everywhere, and platform conventions are respected. 5. **Prevent errors.** Use constraints, sensible defaults, inline validation, and confirmation only for destructive or costly actions. …

How to install
mdr add dayfinggg/openai-codex-agent-skills/designing-user-interfaces@sha256:fe433c54df09aafeThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261015.18f69f5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
