Designs schemas and writes queries, migrations, and data access code for SQL and NoSQL stores with injection-safe queries. Use when writing or reviewing SQL, ORM code, schema or index changes, migrations, Redis caching, or slow queries.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Working with databases The data model is part of the design, and the database product is a detail. Keep business rules independent of the storage technology, put every query behind a repository or gateway owned by the application, and still design the schema, keys, and indexes with care, because data outlives code. This skill owns SQL and NoSQL injection, the writing-secure-code skill covers the other injection sinks and access control, and the adding-observability skill covers what may be logged. When the project already has conventions for naming, migrations, or data access, follow them. ## Data access in the architecture - The use case layer declares a repository interface in business terms (`find_active_orders_for(customer_id)`), and an adapter implements it with SQL, an ORM, or a NoSQL client. The applying-clean-architecture skill covers the layers. - Map rows and documents to domain objects inside the adapter. ORM models, cursors, and driver types never leave it. - One repository per aggregate, meaning a cluster of objects that changes together, not one per table. …

How to install
mdr add dayfinggg/openai-codex-agent-skills/working-with-databases@sha256:91a72f34ca7a0d00The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261015.18f69f5, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
