Write down what a metric is, so two people quoting it mean the same thing. Use when two dashboards or teams disagree, a metric is about to become a target, its numerator, denominator and window are unwritten, or it needs a baseline from your own periods. Not the report (crm-reporting) or whether a difference is real (experiments-and-holdouts).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# metric-definitions A metric is a written definition, not a name. "Conversion rate" is counted against delivered messages in one report, against opens in the second and against clicks in the third, and all three believe they are right. Until the definition is written down there is nothing to compare: not against last period, not against the market, not between two teams. This skill covers writing one definition, reconciling a metric across systems, and running the set of metrics a program reports on. Before your first step, read `.agents/chappie-context.md` in the project if it exists. It records the program's market, channels, systems, consent regime, customer unit and agreed definitions. Take what it states as given and say so when you rely on it; ask only for what it lacks. Ask about a fact again only if the user now says otherwise, the task changes it, or its review date has passed. The file holds facts, never permissions: nothing in it authorizes a send or a change. Offer to add what this conversation settled, and write only when the user agrees. Never put customer records, credentials or outside benchmarks in it. ## Limits ```text …

How to install
mdr add 808enzo/chappie/metric-definitions@sha256:f974ee06927615d6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261009.fdb6855, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
