Ask customers about an experience, route what they say to an owner, and act on it. Use when setting up a post-purchase, post-delivery or post-cancellation survey, a low score arrives and nobody owns it, or nobody can tell whether a change customers asked for worked. Not the score's formula (metric-definitions) or product research.

# voice-of-customer This skill answers one question: **how the program asks a person about their experience and what it does with the answer: whom to ask, after which state and how long after it, how many times one person may be asked, which questions in which order, what happens to a low score and by when, how answers are read by the parts of the experience rather than as one number, and how a change gets back to the people who caused it.** What sets this work apart from its neighbors opens `references/feedback-vocabulary.md`. **Four units, named apart.** The *ask* is one request to one person about one experience (an order, a visit, a conversation, a cancellation, a refund, silence after an expected purchase): the unit of construction. The *answer* is what came back: a score, a choice, a text, a public review; it is tied to an ask by a key, or it arrived on its own. The *obligation* is an answer that requires an action toward the person: a score below the threshold of its scale, a text naming a problem at any score, a request to be contacted, an identified negative public review; the unit of the inner loop and of the control metric.
